Museum manners

Help us protect our glass art and galleries for all to enjoy by honoring our museum manners:
o Do not touch artwork, cases or pedestals.
o Keep a safe distance between you and each work of art.
o Use only pencils.
o No leaning on walls or cases, either to write or for physical support.
o No food or open beverages are allowed in the galleries, classroom or shop.
o Large bags and backpacks need to be left with Visitor Services.
o Running, pushing, and roughhousing are not allowed in the museum.
o No flash photography please. Be aware of “no photography” symbols adjacent to a work of art indicates that photography is prohibited for that work.

Large Groups

To continue providing extraordinary glass experiences to all visitors, a new large group visitation policy is in effect as of March 1, 2026:

Groups consisting of more than 20 people will be required to pay a fee of $9.00 per person exceeding this limit (e.g., a group of 25 would pay $45). This helps offset the cost of staffing required to accommodate large groups and care for the artwork on display.

Group leaders are strongly encouraged to register their visit at least 2 weeks in advance at bmmglass.com/extraordinary-experiences/ and review our museum manners (above) with their groups before visiting.

Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass reserves the right to evaluate group sizes on a case-by-case basis.

QUIET AREAS

There are two quiet rooms available in the museum, one on the lower level next to the elevator, and the other on the second floor in the Germanic gallery.
