Learn to cut circles, curves and irregular shapes in glass. Master the dreaded circle cut. Explore techniques for cutting circles, irregular shapes and circles in glass. Family Snowmen Class

Make your own curved display with a family of snowmen. Learn about different ways to make snowmen. Students will create a portrait of snow people in a winter wonderland. The pieces will be slumped so their pieces can be displayed for a fun holiday decoration.

Fused Mosaic Tray

Create a beautiful fused mosaic tray. Colorful blocks of color are placed on a background sheet of glass, and the spaces between filled with ground glass frit to give a mosaic and grout look. Art Activity Day – Make a Photo Pendant

Saturday, February 1, 2020 | 10am-1pm
Use pre-fused pendants to put a picture of a loved one on glass for Valentine’s Day, or draw a design that can be transferred onto glass. Participants should bring a photo for their project. You will take your finished project with you.

Projects are $15 each. Drop in anytime between 10am and 1pm. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Discover the art of glass at Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass when you tour the museum and create a fused glass sun catcher.

 Tiger Elective Adventure: Stories in Shapes

  1. Visit an art gallery or museum.
  2. Look closely at pictures of some art, decide what you like and share your ideas.
  3. Create a piece of art on paper, poster board, or canvas.
  4. Draw or create an art piece using shapes.

 Wolf Elective Adventure: Collections & Hobbies     

3A.   Visit a show or museum that displays different collections or models.

Lions, Bears and Webelos are also welcome to register.

Appropriate for all ages.  Scouts must be accompanied by leaders and/or parent chaperones. Adult/ scout ratios required by the BSA are required for all clinics. (Adults may participate for the same fee if space allows. Please call in advance.)

Metal Clay and Glass Pendant

Create a beautiful pendant combining silver metal clay and glass. The basics of working with precious metal clay will be introduced , including shaping, texturing, drying, kiln firing, and finishing. Students will shape silver clay to create a setting for a piece of fused dichroic glass. The glass and silver clay pendant will be fired in our kilns and available to be picked up at a later date.  Instructor: Sara Rezin

Webelos and Arrow of Light Art Explosion Elective Adventure February 2020

Explore glass art in our galleries and studio. Scouts will create their own glass project and other art projects to complete their Art Explosion Elective Adventure  (Requirements: 1, 2, 3a and 3b).

Items will need to be fused and will be ready for pick up approximately one week after the event and can be shipped for a fee.

Adults may participate for the same fee if studio space is available. Please call ahead. Registration is required one week prior to the event. Scouts must be accompanied by leaders and/or parent chaperones. Adult: scout ratios are required for all tours and activities.
