Kindle Creativity: Glass Art Project

KINDLE CREATIVITY:
GLASS ART PROJECT

Glass art projects are fun for school groups, teambonding, or a day out with friends! We’ll give you the power to create dynamic art that is completely unique. Groups of 10 or more can create their own extraordinary works of glass art. Participants must be ages 5 and up. No previous experience is required!

PENDANTS/ KEY CHAINS

Participants start with a clear glass “blank” about 1.5×1.5″. After a brief overview and safety talk, it is completely up to the individual on what their design will look like. Pieces are all pre-cut and ready to be glued on. Projects stay at the museum for 10-14 days to be fired in a kiln. After firing, a jewelry bail is glued on and a key ring is attached if desired. Projects take about 30 minutes. $5 per project.

SUN CATCHER

Groups can choose between three different sizes – 3×3”, 4×4”, and 5×5”. After a brief overview and safety talk, it is completely up to the individual on what their design will look like. Pieces are all pre-cut and ready to be glued on. The sun catchers will be fired in the kiln with a copper hoop. Projects stay at the museum for 10-14 days to be fired in a kiln. Projects take about 45-60 minutes. 3×3: $10 / 4×4: $15 / 5×5: $20

SELF-PORTRAIT

Participants learn about portraying more than meets the eye. In this class, sheet glass is used to create a self-portrait. Clear “blanks” that are 4×5” are decorated with colorful glass to represent themselves. After a brief overview and safety talk, it is up to the individual on what their self-portrait looks like. Pieces are all pre-cut and ready to be glued on. Pieces will remain at the museum for 10-14 days to be fired in a kiln. Afterward hooks can be attached for easy hanging. Projects usually take about 45 minutes to an hour. $30 per project.
