Hands Up Wisconsin provides ASL interpretation for our docent-led tours. If you have need of their services, please let us know at least three weeks in advance.

LARGE GROUPS

To continue providing extraordinary glass experiences to all visitors, a new large group visitation policy is in effect as of March 1, 2026:

Groups consisting of more than 20 people will be required to pay a fee of $9.00 per person exceeding this limit (e.g., a group of 25 would pay $45). This helps offset the cost of staffing required to accommodate large groups, care for the artwork on display, and manage the flow of traffic to accommodate scheduled tours.
Group leaders are strongly encouraged to register their visit at least 2 weeks in advance at bmmglass.com/extraordinary-experiences/ and review our museum manners (below) with their groups before visiting.
Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass reserves the right to evaluate group sizes on a case-by-case basis.

MUSEUM MANNERS

Help us protect our glass art and galleries for all to enjoy by honoring our museum manners:
o Do not touch artwork, cases or pedestals.
o Keep a safe distance between you and each work of art.
o Use only pencils.
o No leaning on walls or cases, either to write or for physical support.
o No food or open beverages are allowed in the galleries, classroom or shop.
o Large bags and backpacks need to be left with Visitor Services.
o Running, pushing, and roughhousing are not allowed in the museum.
o No flash photography please. Be aware of “no photography” symbols adjacent to a work of art indicates that photography is prohibited for that work.

ADAPTIVE BAGS

Adaptive Bags are available for borrowing at the Community First Credit Union Welcome Center

Adaptive Bags are resource kits designed to aid visitors in their sensory experience at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass. Each kit contains a plethora of sensory tools and activities for visitors to borrow to make their visit more engaging.

Anyone! While Adaptive Bags are usually designed for those who identify as having autism, neurodivergence, or sensory needs, anyone who would like to check out a bag from the Welcome Center is able to do so. That said, we encourage visitors to exercise caution with visitors under the age of 5 due to choking hazard parts.

Every adaptive bag includes the following:

  • Museum branded bag
  • Communication Cards
  • Light refracting glasses
  • Coloring book & crayons
  • Picture book
  • Battery powered drawing pad
  • Noise-cancelling headphones (baby headphones available upon request)
  • 30-second liquid timer
  • Pop it toy
  • Ray the Dragon stuffed animal
  • Magnetic sensory toy kit
  • Fidget spinner
  • Sensory maze
  • Magnifying glass
  • Pencil

Adaptive bags are available for borrowing at the Community First Welcome Center.

You may carry your bag with you throughout the museum during your visit.

When you leave the museum, return your bag to the Welcome Center for a museum staff member to clean.

Funding for Adaptive Bags was generously provided by the Community Foundation for the Fox Cities Region.
